San Benito County Concealed Carry Permit Class for New and Renewing Applicants

Course Overview

Our curriculum is approved by the San Benito County Sheriff’s Office (SBCSO).

This class is NOT a handgun skills training class.

Candidates should already be confident, competent, and consistent with the firearm(s) they plan to list on their CCW permit.

This class is appropriate for persons who have applied for, and received, initial approval from SBCSO, in addition to passing their background and psychological testing.

Duration:

• New Permit: 16 hours
• Renew Permit: 8 hours

Maximum Participants: 8

Classroom

The classroom session covers those topics required by SBCSO for all CCW candidates. The instructors will also administer the live fire/range qualifications.

Students are expected to have the appropriate equipment and skills to successfully complete the live fire qualifications.

Live Fire Qualification

Live fire qualifications will include drawing from an outside the waistband holster and shooting from several distances under time constraints. Candidates will also be required to shoot with their support hand during a portion of the qualifications.

Fee

• New Permit: $350 (includes up to 2 guns; $10 for each additional handgun)
• Renewal Permits: $$175 (includes up to 2 guns: $10 for each additional handgun)
